Frank Wykoff - Outstanding Athletic Achievement.

The text at the bottom of the collaged photograph awarded to the Wykoff family  says ...

"In 1929, just two years after Glendale Junior College was established, Frank Wykoff put the school on the map in terms of athletics by tying the world record four separate times in the 100-meter dash, and by winning the National Junior College Championship in that event.

"In 1930, while a student of USC, Wykoff cemented his reputation as the world's fastest human when he set the world record of 9.4, a time established without the use of starting blocks, and a mark that lasted for 17 years.  He also won gold medals in the 1928, 1932 & 1936 Olympic Games as part of the 4 x 100 Meter Relay teams."
