AN ILLUSTRIOUS BATON? With all of the excitement that
generated around the infamous baton, Frank later remarked
that one would have believed that the baton broke the world
record, not the 1936 USA Relay team that carried that baton
to victory; and IT -- not him, was being inducted into
the National Track & Field Hall of Fame.
